Message from the Convenor

Welcome to the Institute for Medical Advancement and Clinical Excellence (IMACE). As Convenor of the IMACE Governing Board, I am proud to lead an organisation dedicated to improving health and healthcare outcomes in Hong Kong through the promotion of professional standards and evidence-based guidance. Our Board, comprising members from across the public and private healthcare sectors in Hong Kong, oversees the collection and interpretation of scientific and clinical evidence when formulating “IMACE Recommendations” related to clinical practices in screening, diagnosis, treatment and management of various diseases, as well as evaluation of the efficacy of different medical options, from drugs, medical devices, to surgical procedures and new medical technologies.

At the IMACE, we are committed to ensuring that the people of Hong Kong would have access to the highest quality of healthcare. Through the IMACE, representatives of various healthcare sectors can collaborate and share their knowledge and experience and identify the most effective medical options for patients. Our Recommendations will help healthcare personnel learn about and apply the latest technologies in their daily practice, and help promote the development of Hong Kong into an international health and medical innovation hub. Our dedicated team also works to develop education materials aimed at enhancing public awareness about the principles of evidence-based medicine and empowering patients to make informed decisions about their health.
