Valuable Engagements with the Hong Kong Association of the Pharmaceutical Industry (HKAPI)
To network with pharmaceutical stakeholders, Convenor of the Institute for Medical Advancement and Clinical Excellence (IMACE), Professor Gilberto Ka-kit Leung, attended the “HKAPI Annual Dinner” on 20 June 2025 with Dr. Libby Ha-yun Lee, Under Secretary for Health; Professor Philip Wai-yan Chiu, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at The Chinese University of Hong Kong; and Professor Chak-sing Lau, Dean of the LKS Faculty of Medicine at The University of Hong Kong, who are currently the members of the IMACE Governing Board. This event served as a valuable opportunity for the IMACE to build meaningful connections and foster collaboration with those who are dedicated to enhancing healthcare delivery and innovation.
Building on this initial engagement, the Convenor met with the leadership team of the HKAPI Healthcare Financing Transformation Project Team on 12 August 2025. This meeting provided an opportunity to explore potential collaborations that could benefit and advance healthcare financing transformation in Hong Kong.
The dialogue further unfolded at “HKAPI’s 4ᵗʰ CEO Meeting” on 15 August 2025, where the Convenor shared the vision and plans of the IMACE, highlighting its role in strengthening clinical excellence and advancing healthcare practices in Hong Kong. During the exchange with HKAPI members, he addressed the industry’s role in developing clinical guidelines and the critical need for multi-stakeholder collaboration.
