The IMACE’s Visit to NICE Strengthens Clinical Practice Guidelines Collaboration and Exchange

The Institute for Medical Advancement and Clinical Excellence (IMACE) Governing Board and Committee on Clinical Protocols and Guidelines members had a fruitful 2-day visit to the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) in the United Kingdom on 20-21 October 2025. 

During the visit, the IMACE and NICE representatives exchanged valuable ideas on various aspects, including health economics, evidence review, quality assurance, and stakeholder engagement and consultations, all aimed for the development and implementation of evidence-based clinical practice guidelines.

NICE’s successful experience serves as a reference to the IMACE in devising and promulgating clinical practice guidelines, as well as service quality and efficiency standards for Hong Kong.
