2026 International Nurses Day Celebration and Seminar

On 6 May 2026, the Convenor of the Institute for Medical Advancement and Clinical Excellence (IMACE), Professor Gilberto Ka-kit Leung, delivered a presentation titled “Establishment of the IMACE and the Medicolegal Status of Clinical Guidelines” at the “2026 International Nurses Day Celebration and Seminar”. The event was jointly organised by the HKU School of Nursing and the Hong Kong West Cluster.

The theme of this year’s International Nurses Day is “Our Nurses. Our Future. Empowered Nurses Save Lives”, highlighting the importance of empowering nurses to make the greatest impact on people’s health. In his presentation, the Convenor provided an overview of the IMACE’s establishment and examined the legal and professional implications of clinical guidelines, emphasising their vital role in supporting healthcare practice and enhancing patient safety.​
